Wisconsin immunization rules for students

College and university students

Technical colleges have no blanket immunization requirements, but clinical sites may require vaccines. UW-Madison requires vaccinations for certain healthcare programs and allows case-by-case waivers. Universities of Wisconsin has no current or future intent to mandate student vaccines. (source)

Clinical sites may require hepatitis B, influenza, rabies, Tdap, varicella, meningitis, COVID-19, and MMR vaccinations, plus annual tuberculosis screening. Failure to meet requirements may prevent degree completion, and technical colleges cannot guarantee clinical placements for students who opt out. (source)

K–12 school entry (including high-school CNA and dual-enrollment students)

K–12 students must show proof of required vaccines or provide a parent or guardian waiver. Requirements vary by grade and include DTaP/DTP/DT/Td, polio, hepatitis B, MMR, varicella, Tdap, and MenACWY. MenACWY is required entering seventh grade, with a booster entering 12th grade. (source)
